ECO-SUMMIT PRESS RELEASE

X-2000 CERTIFICATION COOPERATIVE
SOURCED FROM ADVENTURE AND ECO-TOURISM STAKEHOLDERS
AT U.N./WTO SPONSORED SUMMIT

Quebec City (Quebec) MAY 19th 2002 - Explorasport A.C.G. Inc. (Explorasport.com) a Canadian-based adventure promotion organization begun in 1980, is seeking qualified individuals and membership organizations to audit inbound travel operations, outfitters, tour operators, camps, mutli-sport and experiential learning facilities around the globe to the proposed X-2000 standard.

Global Reach - Local Reality
The X-2000 standard, an adaptation of ISO business, industrial and environmental standards to experiential processes, promotes adhesion to the highest safety, professional guidance, customer service and environmental stewardship standards possible in a region. Instead of centrally determined inflexible guidelines, X-2000 recognizes regional and cultural variances, coordinating and utilizing "best practices", most often set by local tourism authorities, sport clubs and industry associations. In compliance with the conventions of the World Tourism Organization and the United Nations Environmental Protection Organization, the X-2000 standard seeks consensus and support from the international sports & adventure community, associations, non-governmental organizations and travel industry.

The Explorasport 6C's
"As the fastest growing segment of the world's largest business, 'Active Travel' including EcoTourism, Adventure Tourism and Multi-Sport tourism is creating a pressing need for the Explorasport 6 C's" says Philip McMaster, founder and president of Explorasport - "we need to move quickly with Comprehensive, Coherent and Consistent, Cross-Cultural Certification standards"

European Coordinator Alex Koll says "Independent certification is very important because today's adventurers care about safety, quality and professionalism" and added "part of the X-2000 effort is to educate consumers regarding their impact and responsibility to the environment - especially the segment with the lowest regard for green behaviour - Multi-Sport enthusiasts!"

Partnerships and Alliances
Explorasport is seeking experts from every region interested in participating in and sharing the benefits of responsible industry imagebuilding. Industry, government and association representatives on the Board of Advisors will co-develop the X-2000 trustmark as a tool for marketing and regulating sustainable development.

For example, in order for Explorasport to continually audit "Active Travel" destinations around the world with the least environmental impact possible, Explorasport has allied with AirTreks of San Francisco as its official low-cost Round the World ticket supplier to Adventure Team Auditors and regular members. AirTreks founder and president, Jim Pilaar says "in cooperation with Explorasports' efforts to increase efficiencies and reduce tourisms' impact on the environment through education and marketing, AirTreks powered technology reduces waste and unnecessary aircraft emissions by efficiently consolidating travel itineraries and reducing the number of empty seats flying through the atmosphere."

McMaster adds "Increasing globalization and access to Multi-Sport adventure has handed immense opportunity to business…but with that opportunity comes responsibility. In cooperation with EcoTaskForce.com , X-2000 will help companies world wide put ethical values at the heart of everything they do - and protect their reputation and brand integrity in the face of increasingly green and vigilant consumers."

X-2000 Certification is designed to improve business competitiveness by
- increasing customer recognition and loyalty,
- promoting a globally recognized standard of adventure leadership,
- increasing the ability of operations to promote to international markets and
- simplifying a system of audits and monitoring to provide benchmarks for consumers and commercial operations.
